Our History
Boston Baptist College was founded in 1976 by A.V. Henderson and John Rawlings. Planted as a sister institution to Baptist Bible Institute (now Baptist Bible College) in Springfield, MO, Rawlings and Henderson purchased a plot of land in Shrub Oak, NY and named it Baptist Bible Institute East. In 1981, the institution relocated to Hyde Park, MA where it stands today. Later, Baptist Bible College East was upgraded to collegiate status, separating it from Baptist Bible College. Baptist Bible College East was also renamed to Boston Baptist College.
Boston Baptist College has been training young men and women for a life of serving the Lord and serving others both in full-time ministry and the secular workforce. Our Campus is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the city limits of Boston. With easy access to public transportation and being only a short drive from downtown Boston; we offer the best of both worlds. Our amazing location and quality academics set us apart as the only Bible-focused education institution in Boston; one of America’s greatest university cities.
